Home / Main Street
Main Street is a masterful combination of timeless antique charm and contemporary luxury — a 1850s shingled Cape-style compound set in a spectacular historic location on the Old King’s Highway in Dennis village. Taken down to the stud walls and rebuilt in 2018, this project earned both local and state recognition for its Historic Preservation.
Working alongside renowned architect Karen Kempton, the rebuild preserved the home’s timeless character while delivering the finishes, systems, and craftsmanship of a modern luxury residence. The main house balances scale and intimacy across a thoughtful four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath layout — including a great room, formal dining room, butler’s pantry, and a first-floor primary suite with steam shower, Dutch doors, and vaulted ceilings. At the heart of the home, the chef’s kitchen features an oversized reclaimed heart pine island, vaulted beamed ceiling, and antique pine floors.
Beyond the main residence, the compound includes an octagon screened porch with gas fireplace overlooking the pool and hot tub, a fully appointed pool house with 24-foot Nano glass folding doors, and a separate guest house — all within a short, sidewalk-connected stroll of the village of Dennis. Every detail reflects the level of craftsmanship and historic sensitivity that defines a Betterwood project.
